Rising in Love.

Lucille Cachia
You shower, dress up, double-check in the mirror and before leaving you ask someone at home… “How do I look?” You never ask that question usually, but today is not any other day. You’re meeting that special someone and you can’t stop thinking about how it will unfold. If you’re lucky enough to just have the reply you’ve been hoping for you’d get something like “You look good! Enjoy it!” and you rush out cos that’s all you really want to do. Yeah right! You will probably get a load-full of detailed and totally unrelated questions in attempt for those around you to squeeze some sort of information out of you and know who you will be with, where are you going, what are you eating, how often are you hanging around… until the questions pops up… “are you falling in love?!”
Falling in love. There seems to be a subliminal connotation between falling in love and a sense of weakness. It’s perhaps true that at times love can lead us do foolish things, but should it? Love can also be the reason of being, the driver of good-will, and one of the most meaningful experiences in life. And because it’s an experience, it is different to every one of us which makes it somewhat more complex to understand and interact with. The question to follow is, why should we fall in love, when we can rise in love? Similar to other aspects of life, it essentially depends on the meaning we give to love. Love could be many things and here’s our take.
Learn to unlearn. Love starts from within and being able to acknowledge what works for us and what no longer does, can help make space for love to grow. Holding on can weigh us down. Unlearning old habits and welcoming new ones can be the first step towards self-love. Learn more about this practice through Yoga with Jo.
Open yourself to Life. Love isn’t only limited to people. There’s so much more to explore, learn, enjoy, indulge into and to fall in love with… food, coffee, art, music, and life itself! Voice your true self. Being authentic provides a sense of freedom which helps ignite your sparkle. Follow the path unfolded by whichever passion helps you connect to your true self. Marco Parascandalo’s passion for fashion has not only helped him achieve his sense of expression but is also helping others voice theirs.
Experience. As much as we can read and learn from people’s stories, we tend to learn best through experience. If you’re finding yourself in difficulty to understand, don’t shy away from reaching out to gain clarity. Matthew Bartolo’s read sheds light upon our understanding of experiences and how to best address some of the circumstances encountered.
Whatever your meaning of love is, it’s perhaps ideal to share a common understanding with those who matter. Why fall in love when you can rise in love?
