Two-Factor Authentication in Business Central

Aim


Our aim is to increase the security within Business Central, which is achieved by the setting up of a two-factor authentication. The procedure is usually handled by the IT department even though we can assist in the process.

Procedure


  • Inform your users that this will take place, they will be required to enter their phone nos. in order to be authenticated using them (not everyone is OK with that). They can either confirm the connection using an SMS, phone call or Microsoft authenticator app installed on their phone

  • Once internally accepted, ask your Global admin to navigate to https://admin.microsoft.com

  • Once there, search for “Multi-factor authentication”



  • Select “Configure multi-factor authentication”

  • This page will open up, select all or only desired users and select “Enable”
